200510: Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mom’s out there.  You truly have the most important jobs out there (and oftentimes the hardest).  May you be celebrated today and always.

There are lots of small edits throughout, but my main additions include:

  • Links and a summary of an on-line course from Yale about the science of well-being (thanks DK for suggesting I fully immerse in it). It certainly reinforces much of what is discussed in this website. I’ve created a summary for those who don’t want to invest the ~hour/week for 9 weeks to take it at the bottom of my resources page
  • A couple of links to some new foods I found and added to my recipes page
    • Not sure why I’ve never before came across barukas nuts, but if you’re a nut fan like me you have to try them and read about them.  Get the roasted & salted ones and the nut butter.
    • The Yellowbird Habanero hot sauce was always one of my favorites, as their ingredient list is closest to the homemade sauce I make (love the use of carrots, onions, and vinegar with my peppers).  For some reason I never realized they made different flavors, though, until visiting their website.  You can also get them on amazon here.
  • A great list of philosophies, quotes, and humorous saying from Kevin Kelly (founder of Wired magazine).  I link to it on a new page that will ultimately serve as a birthday wishes page.

Hope you enjoy!

I’ve added a few quotes to the board this week as well.

My favorite new egg photo has to be this delectable soft-boiled egg stuffed in an avocado and wrapped with bacon—one from the outside and one from the inside (topped with some of that YellowBird hot sauce of course) pasted below. A perfect way to finish out keto week yesterday afternoon!  I put full directions on making this in the egg page.
